Sai Majeed is a successful Glasgow businessman who has been influential in the development of cricket at both the community level and the regional level in the West of Scotland over the last two decades.
Through his energy and commitment, Renfrew Cricket Club has grown to become an important contributor to cricket in the local area, especially with the Asian community. He captained the side for 15 years until 2016 when he stepped down from first eleven cricket. Prior to Renfrew CC, he played for Poloc CC and also for Glasgow University where he was a Civil Engineering student from 1984 -85, after which he left to start a career in retail business.
Sai has been active in the administration of cricket in the West, and has held various key positions in the Western District Cricket Union including Convener of the League Management Committee and Chairman of the Executive Committee. He has also represented the WDCU on the Cricket Scotland Domestic Cricket Committee. In the local community, Sai has held the positions of Vice-chair and Secretary of the Renfrew and Gallowhill Sports Hub.
