Lions Squad to face Durham 2XI

A Scotland Lions squad will travel down for a 3 day match against Durham 2nd XI this week (6-8 September)

The Lions have been hit with a series of late call offs. Ollie Hairs, Majid Haq and Safyaan Sharif have all withdrawn; Haq and Sharif both sustained injuries at Sunday’s Murgitroyd T20 Finals Day at Poloc.

This however, offers an opportunity for Calvin Burnett to re-establish his international credentials and a first chance to shine for both Peter Ross and Michael Leask.  Ross is rewarded for a series of good performances at the recent Under 19 World Cup Qualifying tournament, which the Scots won. While Leask has shown his all round potential during this year’s Regional Series.

The three day match will provide a tough challenge for the Lions against a strong Durham side who have no County Championship match this week. The game will be played at Longhirst Hall, near Morpeth in Northumberland with a 10.30am start on each day
