2014 Scottish Cup Semi Finals

18 Jul

The 2014 Scottish Cup semi-finals take place this weekend with East Kilbride welcoming Mazars Grange, while Ferguslie prepare for the visit of PSL Clydesdale.

East Kilbride will have high hopes of knocking out the current custodians of the Scottish Cup when they meet at Torrance House on Sunday.

The home side have recently be boosted by the return of former Scotland spinner Ross Lyons. They will also have Moneeb Iqbal in their ranks, who’s half century helped them past Falkland in the previous round.

Grange will be anticipating strong performances from key players such as George Munsey and Gordon Goudie, who both featured for Scotland A against Gloucestershire 2XI during the week, to remain the only team from the east of the county in the competition.

Clydesdale made light-work of Watsonians in the quarter finals and will be hoping that experienced spinner Majid Haq will be on form as his team travel to Meikleriggs, for what promises to be feisty derby contest.

Former Zimbabwean international Keith Dabengwa will be a key man for Ferguslie, as will former Scotland U19 batsman Michael English, in their quest to reach the Scottish Cup Final, with the added bonus of knocking out their closest rivals on the way.

Sky Sports has previously focused on the Clydesdale v Ferguslie rivalry during their Club Life series which can be found HERE
