2016 Citylets Scottish Cup Draw takes place
The 2016 Citylets Scottish Cup draw took place at Hamilton Crescent, the venue for the first final 50 years ago in front of a number of clubs from the east and west of the country.
Kelburne’s Tom Ralph (pictured), a member of the side to win the first ever Scottish Cup in 1966, was a guest of honour for the evening and helped conduct the draw with Cricket Scotland President Colin Neill.
A number of intriguing ties were pulled out, with current champions Arbroath heading to the Capital to start theirdefence against Stewarts Melville, while there will be an all Eastern Premiership clash between Grange and Watsonians.
A number of western sides were drawn at home - Poloc will host Heriot’s at Shawholm, as East Kilbride, Prestwick, Greenock, Uddingston, Ferguslie and Stirling County also secure home fixtures.
With a number of potential ‘giant killings’ a possibility in the first round, it should prove to be an exciting competition during it’s 50th year.
Cricket Scotland would like to thank those Clubs who sent representatives and West of Scotland Cricket Club for hosting the event.
