Annual Report 2012
The report details a very busy and productive year of activity in 2012 which included Scotland’s first official victory over an ICC Full Member, some excellent performances by the Under 19 national team in their World Cup in Australia and encouraging performances by Scotland’s women’s teams and all the age group sides.
Participation has risen once again to just over 55,000 with just under 10,000 playing regularly in our club structure, with our development programme rewarded with the ICC Global Award for the Best development Programme.
Off the field, Cricket Scotland expanded its family of corporate and cricketing partners, and was successful in securing additional investment from the ICC through their new TAPP scheme. An unusually wet summer hit the organisations finances with a loss of £49K on the year, made up primarily by the loss of revenues from cancelled fixtures including the ODI against England.
Commenting on the annual report, Chairman Keith Oliver stated, ‘It is pleasing to see the progress achieved across many areas of our activity during 2012. Our participation numbers are good, our pathway programmes are starting to bear fruit and we also had many excellent results on the field during the year, not least our victory over Bangladesh in a T20 international.
