Bangladesh qualify for next round of U19 CWC

Bangladesh Under-19s 256/6 (50.0 ov) beat Scotland Under-19s 142 (47.2 ov) by 114 runs [Scorecard] 

Scotland produced a much improved performance against hosts Bangladesh at Cox’s Bazar in their second ICC U19 Cricket World Cup fixture. 

An unbeaten century by Nazmul Shanto helped Bangladesh recover from 17/2 to post a first innings score of 256/6, much to the delight of the home supporters. 

Mohammad Ghaffar was the pick of the Scotland bowlers taking 4/60 backed up by Ryan Brown and Mitchell Rao, who claimed a wicket each. 

In reply, Captain Neil Flack (28) and Rory Johnston (20) produced an opening stand worth 48. Azeem Dar kept the momentum of the innings going with a hard earned half-century. 

After Jack Waller had departed for 24, the Scots lost regular wickets as the hosts booked their place in the next stage of the competition. 

Mohammad Saifuddin finished with figures of 3/17, while Saleh Shawon claimed 3/37 to help their side to a 114 run win. 

Scotland will now conclude their Group A game on Tuesday against South Africa.
