Coleman under the Sky Sports lights

30 Jul

Freddie ColemanFreddie Coleman has been named in the Warwickshire squad to face Somerset in their crunch Friends Life t20 fixture this evening (30 July).

Coleman, who was a member of the Scotland U19 team that competed in the ICC U19 World Cup in Australia last year, made his first appearance for the Bears senior side last week in their convincing win over Gloucestershire.

Although the promising young batsmen wasn’t required at the crease, he did make an impact by taking a catch on the cover boundary to dismiss Alex Gidman off Darren Maddy’s bowling as Warwicksire ran out winners by 7 wickets.

Warwickshire are currently being coached by former Scotland all-rounder Dougie Brown. The match will be live on Sky Sports this evening.

Matt Machan continued his impressive season blasting 67, including 6x4s and 2x6s, for the Sussex Sharks against Kent before falling to South African internationalist Vernon Philander. His impressive innings however proved to be in vain as the Sharks ended up 9 runs short of the total.
