Cricket Australia name A team squad

24 Apr

Cricket AustraliaCricket Australia has announced their Test and A team squads ahead of a big summer of cricket. The tourists will play Scotland A in a four day match at the Grange at the beginning of June.

The Australian A team will be led by Brad Haddin, who has been named as vice-captain in the Ashes squad, north of the border for the encounter on 7-10 June.

The match will be used to give their premier bowlers an extra opportunity to get used to the conditions they will face during their tour with Peter Siddle, James Pattinson and the solitary spin bowler in the Ashes squad, Nathan Lyon.

It will also allow those included in the Ashes squad to push their place in the starting XI, such as stars Usman Kwawaja, Ryan Harris and Jackson Bird.

Scottish supporters will be slightly disappointed not to see ex-Saltires Ed Cowan and George Bailey included in the A team squad and back on Scottish soil.

Tickets will be available on the gate at the start of each days play priced at £10 per day.

Australia A squad Brad Haddin (capt), Steven Smith (vice-capt), Ashton Agar, Jackson Bird, Alex Doolan, Ryan Harris, Moises Henriques, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Nic Maddinson, James Pattinson, Chadd Sayers, Peter Siddle, Jordan Silk.
