2013 Inter-Regional Championships

Unlike the previous season, the 2013 youth inter-regional championships were blessed with fine weather throughout the summer with the majority of matches completed.   The U18 competition was keenly contested with each side having success over the other at some stage during the season.  However, the Eastern Knights ultimately secured the title with a first innings victory against the Highlanders in the final 2-day match of the season.  Things were clearer cut in the U15 championship with the Caledonian Highlanders winning six of their seven completed matches to finish the season as deserved winners.

Eastern Knights leg-spinner Haris Aslam won the U18 player of the year award for taking 16 wickets at an average of 13.43, and Caledonian Highlander Hughes Gillin took the U15 award for taking 15 wickets (average 10.66) and scoring 89 runs (average 22.25).
