Development XI v Durham Academy

13 May

Gossain delivers A Scotland Development XI will take on Durham Academy at New Williamfield, Stirling with a two day fixture on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a 50 over encounter on Thursday.

Current Scotland U19 captain Ross McLean will lead the side which features Nick Farrar, Chayank Gosain and Craig Wallace who featured for the Scotland A team that defeated Durham at the ICG Emirates.

George Munsey hopes to play in his first representative fixture following some impressive performances for Grange since the start of the Scottish domestic season. Aberdeenshire bowler Adrian Neil has also turned in some promising displays and makes the squad for the 50 over fixture.

Ten members of the U19 squad that travelled to Sri Lanka earlier in the year has been selected, as the team prepare for the ICC World Cup Global Qualifiers in Holland later in the year.

Cricket Scotland Performance Development Manager Craig Wright said; “The three days of cricket we play against Durham Academy each year gives what is essentially an U19 team the exposure to some good quality opposition as we build towards the selection of the final squad for the World Cup Qualifiers.

Since it is school and university exam time there are a few players unavailable, but that gives us the chance to provide an opportunity to one or two players from outside the U19 squad who are pushing for representative recognition at both senior and youth level”.

The fixtures will start at 11am.
