Drummond ready for first fixture
Scotland will take on Afghanistan tonight in their first T20 fixture at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, under the lights in the first competitive fixture of the tour.
After two back to back victories against the UAE Blues, the Scots have been building up momentum for these vitally import set of fixtures.
ICC Rankings are at stake tonight, but the opportunity to take the energy into the World Cricket League matches is a key aim for Gordon Drummond and his troops.
“It’s going to be a real test and experience for the lads tonight”, Drummond said earlier today from the team hotel.
“The lights are something that not many of the players have experienced before, and it’s going to be a real opportunity to strike the first blow against this talented Afghanistan outfit. We are under no illusions, it’s going to be tough and they are going to come at us hard, but we are ready!”
Scotland coach, Pete Steindl and his staff have the extremely difficult task of picking the eleven players tonight, with former Warwickshire player, Neil Carter expected to earn his first Scotland cap under the lights of Sharjah Cricket Stadium
