Grange win ECB U15 Final
The semi-finals and final of the Under 15 ECB Qualifying Cup took place at Goldenacre on 8 July 2013.
In the first semi-final Ayr scored 126 for 3 against Barclays Grange with Shujaa Khan retiring on 50. In reply Grange scored 129 for 2.
Meanwhile in the other semi-final Forfarshire scored 156 for 4 against Largo, which proved to be too much with Largo eventually finishing 42 runs short of the target on 114 for 7.
The final between Forfarshire and Barclays Grange was a low scoring match. Forfarshire batted first but after an opening partnership of 39 between Christian Robertson and Rory Johnston wickets began to fall and the innings closed with the total on 77 for 8 wickets.
Barclays Grange in reply lost two early wickets but an unbeaten partnership of 64 runs between Jamie Crawley and Eric McIntosh saw their side home with 4.3 overs to spare.
Barclays Grange now progress to play the winners of Durham County with the victors qualifying for the ECB Northern Regional Finals.
In the 3rd / 4th play-off match Largo beat Ayr scoring 119 for 2 in reply to Ayr’s 118 for 8.
