I-Cup match at Mission Road washed out

24 Jan

Scotland and Hong Kong were left frustrated after all four days of the Intercontinental Cup encounter at Mission Road  were washed out.

After play was abandoned, Scotland coach Grant Bradburn said, “We are obviously disappointed not to be playing cricket. Our squad have prepared so well for this series both at home over the winter months and during our recent camp in Abu Dhabi. We have kept a positive and philosophical approach as we can only influence our preparation and things within our control.

Unfortunately the weather is not in our control. While it’s disappointing for us to lose an opportunity to play and do battle with Hong Kong, we also feel for the Hong Kong Cricket Association and the ground staff who have put a huge amount of energy and time into this series."

The points were shared  with 10 points awarded to each.
