28 Apr

Cricket Scotland is delighted to announce that John Blain has joined the performance coaching team in a new part time role.

The 37-year-old former Northants, Yorkshire, Scotland player and Yorkshire Academy, 2nd XI and club bowling coach will oversee the development of the next generation of emerging pace bowlers in Scotland in his new role as Lead Pace Bowling coach.

This will complement his recently acquired Head Coach role within the Eastern Knights regional performance programme.

On the appointment John Blain said "I'm delighted to accept this role and be a part of the newly formed performance coaching team. To be given the responsibility of developing the next generations of pace bowlers in Scotland excites me. I see this as an opportunity to put into practice my experiences at both playing level and my formative years at Yorkshire as Club Bowling Coach and through my Level IV. "

Cricket Scotland Performance Director Andy Tennant added "We are delighted to have John on board in a coaching capacity. He is an outstanding young coach and we are looking forward to putting his skills to work in identifying and developing our best young pace bowlers, while supporting the development of the Eastern Regional Performance Programme as Head Coach."

Blain will continue his current roles at Loretto School and Grange.
