Lords International Extend Sponsorship
Lords International have agreed to continue their affiliation with Cricket Scotland by sponsoring the 2013 Scottish Cup, which will be the second year the company will have had their name associated with Scotland's premier club cup competition. The competition will be known as the Lords Scottish Cup for a further two years.
Lords have already had a large presence in Scottish cricketing circles as one of the main sponsors of The Western District Cricket Union.
Lords will supply all the pink balls used in this year's competition to the 32 competing clubs free of charge. The Lords Scottish Cup starts on Saturday the 20th of April with the final to take place at New Williamfield, Stirling on Sunday 25th August 2013. The defending champions Heriots begin the defence of their title with an away game at Falkland.
Commenting on the partnership, Cricket Scotland Chief Executive Roddy Smith stated, “We are delighted that Lords have agreed to extend their successful sponsorship of the Scottish Cup. The introduction of the pink ball was a great success last year and we look forward to an exciting cup competition again, culminating with the final in Stirling for the first time.”
