`Making it Happen at Your Cricket Club` Workshops

24 Nov

Cricket Scotland are excited to announce the next round of Club Development Workshops delivered in conjunction with Svend Elkjaer from Sports Marketing Network.

The `Making it Happen at your Cricket Club` Workshops are a continuation of the excellent `Thriving Clubs` Programme being delivered with SMN. These workshops will be the precursor to the next phase of applications for clubs that would like to be one of 10 clubs selected nationally to go through the `Thriving Clubs` programme with Svend in 2016.

These workshops are extremely enlightening, interactive and provide your club with practical advice and ideas to become a `Thriving Cricket Club`. This year’s programme and workshop will include some exciting developments, including:

  • Launch of our `Social Media Champions` Support – Clubs selected on the programme will be able to select a social media champion to receive training and support from SMN and Cricket Scotland Communications Manager Ben Fox
  • Young Club Ambassadors – Clubs supported in appointing Young Club Ambassadors for their local schools and youth groups to champion your club and the sport
  • School to Club Guide – Easy to follow steps to ease the transition from trying cricket at school to becoming a club cricketer

To find out more about this programme and how to get access to some of this support, or to simply get some ideas  to `make it happen at your cricket club`, please register for one of the following workshops through your Cricket Scotland Regional Manager. Workshops are as follows:

Making it happen at your club

Bring a Volunteer!

For these workshops we are also encouraging club members to bring a potential volunteer or friend with them. This should be someone you would like to become involved with your club; a keen new member, an interested parent, or a friend with a specific skill that could help your club. We always identify that we don`t have enough volunteers but how often do we ask and engage people in a meaningful way? Asking them along to this workshop could motivate and inspire them to become a valued volunteer at your club.

Please feel free to circulate this around your club and contact, and we look forward to seeing someone at these workshops
