National Club Championship Under 13 Qualifying Cup
The semi-finals and final of the NCC Under 13 Qualifying Cup took place at Goldenacre, Edinburgh on Sunday 22 June 2014.
In the first semi-final Falkland met Carlton in a low scoring match. Falkland batted first and scored 62 for 9 wickets off their 20 overs. In reply Carlton passed that total with two wickets down, Murray Whittaker retiring on 30.
The second semi-final saw Grange against Clydesdale. Grange batted first and scored 115 for the loss of one wicket, Ben Davidson retired on 31. In reply Clydesdale were all out for 84.
They did have some consolation by winning the 3rd/4th play-off match against Falkland, scoring 151 for 1 wicket with Falkland totalling 78 for 7 in reply.
The Final between Grange and Carlton saw Carlton batting first and reaching 94 for 7 in their 20 overs, Murray Whittaker retiring on 30. In reply Grange passed the Carlton total for the loss of three wickets. Ben Davidson again top scored, retiring on 33.
Grange were worthy winners and now go forward as the Scotland Regional winners to meet the winners of the Cumbria Region in the Round of the national stage of the competition. Good luck to them in that match.
