Performance Coaching Structure – Update of Coaching Roles

18 Jun

Cricket Scotland has recently undergone a number of changes to their performance coaching structure.

Commenting on the changes Performance Director Andy Tennant said, “ As a result of some staff changes and in line with our strategy, we have taken the opportunity to move to a more regionalised coaching structure, hence the appointment of the new Regional Performance Coaches. We strongly believe this will increase the critical amount of contact time our coaches have with our best emerging players – and in time will build a broader pool of talent in each region pushing for national representation. The structure also reflects on our ability to call on the wealth of coaching talent that exists in Scotland - and we are determined to put these skills to work for the benefit of Scotland’s cricket teams, both male and female.”

Commenting specifically on the Caledonia region he added “We are delighted to have the excellent coaching skills of Graeme Beghin available to coach the Caley Highlanders senior men’s team, but unfortunately he leaves us in September to return to New Zealand. As a result we will be working hard over the coming months to put a coaching structure in place that works - given the large geographical nature and specific needs of the region.
