Pro 50 Series fixture cancelled

27 Aug

Cricket Scotland have announced the cancellation of the fifth game in the Pro 50 trophy Series, scheduled for Monday 31st August at Titwood.

The final match, was in effect, a “dead rubber” with the Highlanders 2-0 up with one to play in the five match series.

CS Performance Director Andy Tennant said, “Cancelling a Pro Series match is not a decision that has been taken lightly, however, the cancellation of the game on Monday will allow our Scotland A squad travelling to Blackpool to play Lancashire 2nd XI on Tuesday more time to travel and prepare properly - for what is an important match in the build up to our I-Cup game in the Netherlands the following week.

This decision also allows us to redirect the money saved from the cost of staging the match, into some key performance priorities for the remainder of the year - such as the Women’s WT20 Qualifiers and the Under 19 World Cup preparation phase.”
