Scotland A squad head to Durham

29 Apr

The Scotland A team that will travel south for a variety of fixtures against Durham’s second string starting tomorrow has been announced.

Gordon Goudie, Richie Berrington and Majid Haq are the centrally contracted players missing out due to injuries sustained against Warwickshire 2XI last week.

With the Scottish Saltires in Yorkshire Bank 40 action on Sunday against county outfit Hampshire, there is an opportunity to stake a late claim for a place in the squad.

There has been call ups for Carlton duo Chayank Gosain and Hamish Gardiner who have both impressed with early season form.

The young left-arm spinner, Gosain, will get his first taste of senior representative cricket after completing a recent development tour with the U19s to Sri Lanka, while 23 year old Gardiner has previously been capped for Scotland at U13 level before moving to Australia.

The first match will take place tomorrow with a 50 over match on the main square at the IOC Emirates, followed by a 40 over encounter on Wednesday and a T20 match on Thursday.
