Scotland defeat Canterbury XI in first tour match

Scotland started their tour of New Zealand with a friendly fixture against a Canterbury XI at Elmwood Park, Christchurch on Friday. 

Iain Wardlaw, Majid Haq and Gordon Goudie all claimed three wickets apiece as they bowled out their hosts for 168. 

The Scotland top order managed to make light work of the target as Calum MacLeod continued his good form from the T20 Qualifiers with an unbeaten 74, with support from Moneeb Iqbal (32) and Freddie Coleman (13). 

Young Stoneywood-Dyce batsman, Michael Leask, ensured Scotland would complete a six wicket victory with 10no to help give Craig Wright and Paul Collingwood their first victory at the helm of the national team.
