Scotland A squad to Durham
Scotland today announced their A squad to travel to Durham for three one day matches against Durham 2XI at the Racecourse Ground on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Preston Mommsen will lead a Scotland side out for the first time since defeating the UAE in the final of the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.
Included are several of the players who featured in the win at Lord’s on Tuesday. Hamish Gardiner returns to Scotland colours while Andrew Umeed retains his place after his debut at the home of cricket.
Left-arm spinner Chayank Gosain will add another spin option, and Craig Wallace will keep wicket for the three 50 over matches.
Gavin Main, currently at Durham Academy, will be part of the Scotland squad against his host county, while Calvin Burnett will travel down for the game on Wednesday only.
Andy Tennant, Cricket Scotland Performance Director, said, “These games are an important part of our preparations for the England game, and another opportunity for players to show us they are desperate to be playing in next year’s World Cup.
