Scotland A squad to face Durham 2XI
Cricket Scotland has announced its squad to travel down to face Durham CC 2XI in the opening representative fixture of the season, starting on the 22nd April.
The squad contains six members of the traveling 2015 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, with captain Preston Mommsen leading the side at Seaton Carew CC.
The three day fixture will give an opportunity to six players under 20, including Andrew Umeed who helped Warwickshire 2XI to victory with a century against Northants & Kent 2XIs on Friday.
Dylan Budge, who was named as 2015 Wisden’s Schools Cricketer of the Year, will also represent Scotland’s A team, along with Gavin Main, against their contracted county.
Head of Elite Player Development Craig Wright said, “We are looking forward to the home season kicking off after an enjoyable but challenging winter in the southern hemisphere.
The three day match against Durham gives the contracted players a chance to get back into competitive action as we begin our preparation ahead of the Intercontinental Cup and T20 Qualifiers later in the summer.
We will also have the opportunity to continue to blood young players to a higher level and provide them with experience in the multi-day format.”
