Scotland A travel to Leicestershire

28 May

The Cricket Scotland selectors have announced a squad of 12 to begin a 3-day fixture for Scotland A against Leicestershire 2nd XI, starting tomorrow at Ratcliffe College.

The team will be captained by Preston Mommsen, who has a number of the contracted Scotland players at his disposal.

Calum MacLeod will be looking to continue his good vein of form following an impressive half century against Surrey on Sunday, in a match that also saw Gordon Goudie bowl well to return with figures of 3/39.

Youngsters Chayank Gosain and Ross McLean will be looking to continue impressing at this level, while Josh Edwards and Hamish Gardiner also get the call up.

Craig Wallace will also be hoping to force his way back into the national side after catching the eye of English county Durham where he turned out for their 2nd XI last week against Lancashire.

Richie Berrington will miss out on the trip due to illness, but will be hoping to be fit for the Saltires trip to Chelmsford to take on Essex in this Sunday’s Yorkshire Bank 40 fixture.

Preston Mommsen (c), Ewan Chalmers, Gordon Goudie, Michael Leask, Hamish Gardiner, Craig Wallace (+), Josh Edwards, Calum MacLeod, Calvin Burnett, Chayank Gosain, Ross McLean, Moneeb Iqbal.
