Scotswatch | Scots find form ahead of Kenya series
Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer again made the headlines with an unbeaten century against Worcestershire in the Yorkshire Bank 40 on Monday evening.
The Sky cameras were present at the County Ground to witness Coetzer’s third century in domestic one-day cricket, this particular 100 coming from 107 balls including 10x4s and 2x6s.
Worcester had originally made 187 from their allocated 40 overs with the help of a half century by Tom Fell in the day/night encounter.
Most of the hype had been focused on Australian international Cameron White’s return to county cricket, but when he was dismissed for 24 Coetzer ensured his team would continue their excellent run of form in limited overs cricket with a convincing 7 wicket win.
Coetzer’s Northants team mate David Murphy has also been in the runs as he struck a half century for the county against Lancashire during a low scoring County Championship encounter last week.
Also enjoying some good form has been Sussex’s’ Matt Machan. The 22 year old batsman smashed 68 for the Sharks and was named Man of the Match, ensuring his county completed a 50 run win over Nottinghamshire in Group A of the YB40 last Friday evening.
