Scottish Cup Semi-Finals 2015
This weekend four of Scotland’s clubs will contest the 2015 Scottish Cup semi-finals at Lochalands and Grange Loan.
Eastern Premier side Arbroath will welcome West District Union side Poloc CC, while it will be an all capital affair between Carlton and Grange.
Poloc sealed their place in the semis with a thrilling rain affected match against Forfarshire. J Millen had top scored for the ‘Loc with 60 as his side posted 105/9 from their 20 overs.
Despite 53 from Matthew Parker, Poloc took regular wickets to eventually halt Forfarshire 12 runs short of their total to progress.
Arbroath made the latter stages after a win over Ferguslie. Fraser Burnett (52*) and Ross McLean (49) saw their side chase down 161 (D/L) score with 5 wickets remaining.
Grange also recorded a win over Stoneywood Dyce by 5 wickets, as George Munsey plundered 64 runs, although the destructive batsman will miss the semi-final due to his involvement with the national side in Dublin.
Carlton will be missing a number of their key players to international duty, with Preston Mommsen and Alasdair Evans. However it is expected that Gordon Drummond will return from his coaching stint with the under 19s, along with the player of the tournament, Harris Aslam following their U19 qualification to Bangladesh.
This Sunday will also see the Small Clubs Cup Final contested between Tranent and Morton at Strathmore CC with a 1pm start.
