Sloman joins U19 World Cup Squad
Following an injury to Scotland bowler Scott Cameron during the official warm up matches, it has been confirmed he is unable to play no further part in the tournament.
The ICC Event Technical Committee have approved the request for replacement player Cameron Sloman to join the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup squad with immediate effect.
Left arm seamer Sloman left Scotland on Monday to join up with his team mates in Bangladesh and will train with the squad in Cox’s Bazar prior to their opening group game with Namibia on the 29th January. It is unfortunate and hugely disappointing for Scott that injury has struck in the lead up to the CWC and all at Cricket Scotland wish him the very best in his recovery from injury.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 includes ICC General Manager – Cricket, Geoff Allardice, ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley, host nominees Mahbubul Anam and Mohammed Jalal Younus, and independent nominees and former international cricketers Russel Arnold and Dominic Cork.
Scotland is in Group A along with defending champion South Africa, host Bangladesh and Namibia. Scotland opens its campaign against Namibia on 29 January in Cox’s Bazar.
