Vacancy: CS Commercial Manager
Cricket Scotland is the national sports governing body for cricket overseeing the development and growth in participation of the game in Scotland and organising the playing programmes for our national representative teams competing at global events. Cricket Scotland is an exciting place to work having sent international teams to three world tournaments in the last year and being involved in the second largest team sport in the world.
An exciting new position has arisen at Cricket Scotland reflecting its ambition to grow the sport at all levels over the next few years. As Commercial Manager at the national sports governing body, you will join a team dedicated to developing the sport of cricket from grassroots, schools and clubs to representative age-group, women’s and men’s teams.
The Commercial Manager will be tasked with developing and driving forward all aspects of the organisation`s commercial activity in line with the new Cricket Scotland Strategy.
The successful candidate will manage and be accountable for generating all sponsorship, engaging with corporate Scotland, managing commercial partnerships and business development activities and will have overall responsibility for increasing revenues across all aspects of the operation. You will introduce and co-ordinate membership systems, ticket and merchandise sales and sponsorship packages for domestic and international cricket where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will
- Be commercially astute,
- Be well organised and well networked,
- Have the ability to present effectively to a variety of audiences
- Possess excellent negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to engage with the market place at Board level;
Ideally you will currently be in a commercial position with a record of success gained through building effective relationships at all levels
A knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the sports industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
Terms of employment
The position is based in Edinburgh and will report to the CEO
A competitive salary package will be offered along with pension contributions
