WDCU and WDJCU Set for Exciting Finishes

The cricket season in the west region continues at great pace - with many leagues and cups still waiting to find their news homes. 

The excitement throughout the Senior (WDCU) and Junior (WDJCU) leagues and cups is probably best highlighted by the WDCU Premiership where, with one week to go, five Clubs could still emerge as winners. 

The status of all WDCU Saturday leagues and all cups is shown below: 

Western Union CSL Premier Division: Ayr CC and Clydesdale CC could be winners.

Western Union CSL Premier Division Reserves: Langloan (Drumpellier CC 2nd XI) and Titwood (Clydesdale CC 2nd XI) could be winners.

Western Union CSL First Division: Ferguslie CC are champions.

Western Union CSL First Division Reserves: Shawholm (Poloc CC 2nd XI) and St Ninians (Prestwick CC 2nd XI) could be winners.

WDCU Premiership: Glasgow Accies CC, GHK CC, Irvine CC, Kilmarnock CC and St Michael's CC could be winners.

WDCU Premiership Reserve League: Strathclyde (GHK 2nd XI) and AC Guitars Kingholm (St Michael's CC 2nd XI) could be winners. 

WDCU Championship: Victoria CC are champions.

WDCU Conference: Active Life Club CC, Hamilton CC, Hamilton Palace (Hamilton 2nd XI), Cavaliers (Clydesdale CC 3rd XI) could be winners.

CricHQ40 Cup: Stenhousemuir CC and Stirling County CC are finalists.

Murgitroyd Rowan Cup: Clydesdale CC are winners.

PlayerReg West League Cup: Clydesdale CC and Uddingston CC are finalists.

WDCU Glasgow Cup: Drumpellier CC and Kilmarnock CC are finalists.

WDCU Greenwood Trophy: Active Life Club CC and Uddingston CC are finalists.

WDCU Western Cup: Glasgow Accies CC will play Irvine CC or Shawholm (Poloc CC 2nd XI) in the final.

The WDCU Clubs have also performed well in the various senior National Cup competitions.  Kilmarnock CC beat local rivals Irvine CC in the final of the CS Challenge Cup, Victoria CC won the Small Clubs Cup and Clydesdale CC were runners-up in the Scottish Cup. 

On top of all of this, the WDJCU leagues and cups have also been very competitive.  Clydesdale CC clinched the U15 league last Friday, the U18 and U13 Leagues could be decided this week, the U13 League Cup and U11 League will culminate with exciting Finals' Days early in September and Ayr CC have reached the semi-finals of the Cricket Scotland U18 National Club Championship.
