WDCU XI to face Canada and Netherlands

The Western District Cricket Union have been invited by the ICC and Cricket Scotland to provide the opposition for Canada and Netherlands in two of the warm up matches for the World T20 Qualifying tournament which takes place in Scotland and Ireland during July.

A Western Union XI will face the Canadian National side at Grange on Monday 6th July at 2:15pm, immediately following Scotland v Namibia.

On Tuesday, the Western Union side will move to home territory at New Williamfield in Stirling where we will face the might of the Netherlands, before Afghanistan take on Hong Kong.

The Western Union will be captained by Qasim Sheikh of Kelburne and squad is Scott McElnea (Ayr CC), Lenert Van Wyk (Ayr CC), Sudesh Fernando (Drumpellier CC), Keith Dabengwa (Ferguslie CC), Bradley Williams (Kelburne CC), Niel Bredenkamp (Poloc CC), Tim Spence (Prestwick CC), Moneeb Iqbal (East Kilbride CC), Fredrick Klaassen (East Kilbride CC), Ross Lyons (East Kilbride CC) and Irfan Shah (Weirs CC).

Entry is free to all spectators and we would invite everyone with an interest in the Western District Cricket Union to come along to one or other of the matches and watch an exciting opportunity for our cricketers.
