Wildcats back in T20 action

30 Jul

The Wildcats are back on the road again this weekend as they head to Poulton CC to play in the second round of the NatWest T20 competition.

Having narrowly lost out on first place on net run rate to Derbyshire, the Wildcats will face Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire who both finished second in their respective groups after the first round of matches.

There are two changes to the squad from the 50 over match against Gloucestershire at the weekend, with Rachel Scholes and Lois Wilkinson coming in for Olivia Rae and Kirstie Gordon who have had a busy week coaching and playing with the U17s squad at Malvern College.

Coach Kari Anderson looks ahead to the games, “Here we go again! It’s been a busy cricket season and we still have lots of game to go.  We will be going into these two games looking for two wins, and we want to keep the winning habit going.

We probably didn’t play our best cricket in the last round of the T20’s, so we will be looking to put that right.  I can’t really complain about how we are playing to be honest, of course you can always be better, but I’m happy with the majority of what we are doing.  We aren’t getting carried away, we have a long way to go as a squad but the signs are really positive”.
