Wildcats squad traveling to Gloucestershire
The Wildcats are back on the road again this week as they travel south to face Gloucestershire at Frenchay Cricket Club on the 23 June in ECB County Championships.
The Wildcats will be looking to build on their last outing when they came out comprehensive winners against Oxfordshire earlier this month.
The squad has received a welcome boost by the return of captain Abbi Aitken after university commitments had previously hampered her availability.
Ahead of the trip Kari Carswell shared her thoughts, “We have started the season reasonably well and are happy with the progress we have made. The girls are playing a lot more cricket now and I think that shows in our performances.
It’s going to be a tough game but the girls are clear in what is expected of them, so hopefully they will continue to put in the performances on the pitch”.
It will be an opportunity for the second placed Wildcats to make up ground on fellow associates Holland. A win would set up the possibility of a potential top of the league showdown against the Dutch when the two sides meet at Wellesbourne CC on July 16.
