Women's Regional Series Preview

03 Jun

The Women’s Regional series is set to continue this weekend at Guthrie Park as the East of Scotland take on the Rest of Scotland.

The game has added significance in that it’s the last opportunity for all the players to stake a claim for a place in the squad of 14 that’s selected to take on the Netherlands in the European Qualifier Series in July.

With the East leading the one-day series 1-0 the Rest need to put in a strong performance to keep the series alive going into the final one- day game in August.

“It’s great to have a high degree of competition for places and a strong performance on the day will help players to push their name to the front of the selectors minds. The game will be played with a white ball and will follow the ICC playing conditions to give the players an opportunity to play under the same rules as they will in the Qualifier Series.”
