Scottish Cup 2012
From 2012 the Scottish Cup will be played in two stages. The 32 SCL teams will compete in the initial group stage, which will consist of eight groups of four. The format will include one team from each of the four divisions drawn in each group. The group matches will be played on six Saturdays, with teams playing each other home and away.
The eight group winners will progress to the knockout stage of the Scottish Cup, while the eight second placed teams will compete in a knockout competition for the SCU Trophy in a mirror format to the Scottish Cup. The Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final of both competitions will be played on Sundays in the latter part of the season.
