West and Kelburne looking to build on great wins

McCrea FS West of Scotland and Calero Kelburne both had excellent results in the Western Premier League in week 11 – and they want to build on those in week 12.

After two disappointing losses in weeks nine and 10, West found top form last time out to see off leaders Prestwick by 163 runs as 235-6 played 73 all out at Hamilton Crescent.

That performance has given James Fennah’s men – third in the table – confidence as they prepare for another home game on Saturday when sixth placed Ayr are the visitors.

Callum Dutia, Jesse Mills and Sam Jacobsen come into the West XI for Ian Young, Graeme Etheridge and Tom Spensley.

Ayr’s line-up was set to be confirmed on Friday.

Kelburne are still bottom of the table, but they put in a brilliant team performance last time out to defeat Clydesdale by two wickets and breathe life into their campaign.

That triumph came at Whitehaugh and they will hope that home comforts will help them again at the weekend when eighth placed Stirling County visit.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Kelburne XI is unchanged for this one.

County have not been on a great run of late and lost to Tunnocks Uddingston last time out.

Top of the table Prestwick will be looking to bounce back from last week’s loss when they travel to Albert Park to play ninth placed Langside.

Ross Kennedy comes into the Prestwick XI for the injured Euan McBeth.

Second placed M8 Driving Ferguslie are on the road to Bothwell Castle Policies to take on fifth placed Uddingston.

Qasim Khan joins the Ferguslie XI for this one while Uddingston have Amaan Ramzan and Ziggy Ahmed added to their ranks.

Nunholm will be the venue for fourth placed Your Move Dumfries versus seventh placed Clydesdale.

Robert McBride replaces Thomas McBride for the home team while Sheryar Awan and Nikhil Koteeswaran are out for Clydesdale and Kallum Dhami and Ibrahim Faisal are in.

Saturday, July 16’s fixtures:

Your Move Dumfries v Clydesdale (Nunholm)

Calero Kelburne v SM Cricket Stirling County (Whitehaugh)

Langside v Prestwick (Albert Park)

McCrea FS West of Scotland v Ayr (Hamilton Crescent)

Tunnocks Uddingston v M8 Driving Ferguslie (Bothwell Castle Policies)
