Tomorrow will see Scotland face Namibia in Ayr for their Intercontinental Cup fixture (6-9 June 2017).

Seam bowler Stuart Whittingham will miss out on the match after picking up an injury while on Sussex duty. The national selectors have called up Glamorgan’s Ruaidhri Smith to the squad for the four-day encounter as a result.

Grant Bradburn’s troops will be looking to make the most of sometime in the middle during the teams’ initial tussle in Cambusdoon, before moving to Edinburgh for the World Cricket League matches.

The Scots and the Namibians are old foes with a number of previous matches against each other with Scotland having the upper-hand, winning 7 out of the 11 previous encounters, with the last one coming in 2015 in a T20 match at the Grange in the ICC World T20 Qualifier.

Scotland’s Head Coach Grant Bradburn commented, ‘It’s a shame that Stuart has had to miss this one out, but it opens up an opportunity for Ruaidrhi to come back into the squad and will be eager to make a big impact.’

Whittingham joins the Scotland injury list with Brad Wheal and Matt Machan also unavailable.

Scotland will also be without Josh Davey who is unable to travel.

The Scotland I-Cup squad: Kyle Coetzer*, Con de Lange, Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross†, Alasdair Evans, Safyaan Sharif, Michael Leask, Calum MacLeod, Mark Watt, George Munsey, Craig Wallace, Chris Sole, Ruaidhri Smith.

Play will commence at 11am each day
