EDINBURGH CASTLE ROCKERS WIN INAUGURAL ETPL

The Edinburgh Castle Rockers lifted the first-ever European T20 Premier League title as they defeated the Belfast Wolves by seven wicket at Malahide.

The Castle Rockers squad featured six Scots - Jack Jarvis, Ollie Jones, Final McCreath, Brandon McMullen, Safyaan Sharif and Mark Watt, whilst Gordon Drummond and Rory Johnston were members of the backroom team.

Jarvis, McMullen and Watt were ever-presents for the Castle Rockers, featuring in every game, with McMullen named the Breakout Player of the Tournamenr for his 231 runs at 44.50, alongside three wickets at 16.

In the final, Mark Watt dismissed Glenn Maxwell as the Belfast Wolves were restricted to 150-5, before in reply the USA's Andries Gous blasting an unbeaten 90 as the Castle Rockers eased to their target with eight deliveries remaining - McMullen adding 17 from 12 in a 50 run third-wicket stand.
