FOUR UNCAPPED PLAYERS IN SCOTLAND SQUAD FOR NETHERLANDS ODI SERIES

FOUR UNCAPPED PLAYERS IN SCOTLAND SQUAD FOR NETHERLANDS ODI SERIES

The Scotland squad for the ODI series with Netherlands includes four uncapped players poised to make their senior international debuts.

Ammy Baldie, Rebecca McCrossan, Charlotte Nevard and Isabella Watson are the latest graduates from Cricket Scotland’s burgeoning Pathway programme. Baldie and Nevard both have international experience, having represented Scotland at the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in 2025, while McCrossan and Watson have impressed during Scottish domestic cricket and the Women’s Regional Super Series.

Several players were considered for selection but were unavailable due to injury or existing domestic commitments with their clubs and counties.

The three-match series starts on Friday at Clydesdale, with two further fixtures at Stirling on Sunday and next Tuesday.

Craig Wallace, Scotland Women’s Head Coach, said:

“This series is an outstanding opportunity for us to play ODI cricket and host more international matches in Scotland. Our players all really enjoy the ODI format, and I’m looking forward to seeing them put in some strong performances in fixtures that I think really suits us.

“It’s great to welcome Ammy, Rebecca, Charlotte and Isabella into the squad and I’m keen to see how they perform. They have all played really well this summer, not just in the pathway setup but also in A team and regional cricket over the last couple of years, and hopefully they can continue that form and put in some excellent performances.

“It’s really pleasing to see some strong performances within the pathway and regional programmes translating into opportunities at senior level. It shows that the pathway is there for all players – if you play well and improve, there is potential for opportunity to be involved in the senior setup.

“That in turn pushes on those who’ve been involved for a while and builds greater depth. Everyone selected is deserving of their places here, having taken lots of runs and wickets across the summer. It’s great to give our players more exposure to international cricket as we continue preparing for the important competition cycles that lie ahead.”
