It has been a historic year for Horley, helping Scotland qualify for and compete at a first-ever Women's T20 World Cup, whilst she also become her nation's first Women's ODI centurion, in the Netherlands in August.

Horley's year started in style in Abu Dhabi as Scotland secured their place at the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup, making key contributions with the bat at the top of the order, including an unbeaten 61 in the tournament-opening victory over Uganda.

Horley carried that form into the summer as Scotland competed against the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea in an ODI Tri-Series, her 100 from 121 deliveries against PNG her nation's first ton in the format - before also taking 4-24 with the ball in the same match.

Another match-winning performance followed against PNG, an unbeaten 71 underpinning Scotland's chase of 133 - and the tri-series triumph earned Scotland's place in the top 12 of the rankings, and a place at the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

The year ended with Scotland's appearance at the T20 World Cup in the UAE, and Horley made an immediate impact in that tournament, taking 3-13 against Bangladesh in the opening game.

Saskia Horley has been nominated alongside India's Shreyanka Patil, South Africa's Annerie Dercksen, and Ireland's Freya Sargent.
