SCOTLAND LEGENDS TO BE INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME
Three iconic former Scotland players will be inducted into Cricket Scotland’s Hall of Fame at ceremonies in Dundee this weekend.
Neil McCallum, Fraser Watts and George Reifer will be publicly recognised for their contributions to the Scottish game during Scotland’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 fixtures at Forfarshire Cricket Club, against Canada on Friday 7 August and UAE on Sunday 9 August.
On Friday, former international teammates Neil McCallum and Fraser Watts will be inducted together, recalling memories of successful batting partnerships for their country. Between them, the pair earned 339 caps for Scotland, with Neil playing 135 times between 2000 and 2011, and Fraser earning 204 caps from 1998 to 2012. Both represented Scotland on the world stage at ICC World Cups as well as enjoying great success over many years in Scottish domestic cricket.
Sunday sees the return to Scotland of George Reifer, who won 53 caps between 1991 and 1996. Hailing from Barbados, George spent several successful years as club professional for Edinburgh Academicals Cricket Club and then Uddingston Cricket Club, and Cricket Scotland would like to thank Uddingston CC for supporting George’s return to Scotland for his induction.
The ceremonies will be overseen by Omar Henry, President of Cricket Scotland and Chair of the Hall of Fame Appointment Panel and will take place during the mid-innings intervals of the weekend’s matches. Scotland supporters in attendance are welcome to attend the ceremony and show their appreciation to the inductees.
Earlier this year, fellow 2025 Hall of Fame nominee Kari Carswell was publicly recognised for her contributions to Scottish cricket at an induction ceremony in Edinburgh following the conclusion of the Heriot-Watt University Women’s International T20 Series in June.

“Earlier this year it was a privilege to welcome Kari Carswell to the Hall of Fame in my role as President of Cricket Scotland, so I am looking forward immensely to welcoming these three men, their families and supporters to Forfarshire Cricket Club.
“It will be wonderful to recall their career highlights with them, whilst at the same time enjoying watching our current Scotland Men’s team take on Canada and UAE.
“For any player to be publicly recognised for their achievements in cricket is a huge honour, and I know all the supporters in attendance this weekend will be keen to pay tribute to these three legends of Scottish cricket and acknowledge their achievements.
“I’d also like to thank my colleagues on the Hall of Fame Appointment Panel for their support and input. In the coming weeks the Panel will gather to consider the nominees for the ‘Class of 2026’, with many having been put forward by the Scottish cricketing public, as we continue to honour those who have given great service to the game of cricket in Scotland.”
The Hall of Fame Appointment Panel is chaired by Cricket Scotland’s President, Omar Henry. The current panel members are Ricky Bawa, Kari Carswell, Willie Dick, Jack Ker, Sanjay Patel and Bruce Patterson.
