CLUB DEVELOPMENT TOOL RELAUNCHED

Cricket Scotland is pleased to relaunch its Club Development Tool, an online self-assessment program for Scottish cricket clubs.

Established in 2019, the Club Development Tool enables cricket clubs to assess their strengths and identify areas for improvement. The tool focuses on eight key areas for club growth and development, ranging from women's and girls' cricket to club governance and facilities. The tool also provides information on the key areas that a club needs to ensure it is fully compliant from a safeguarding perspective, ahead of the upcoming Cricket Scotland Safeguarding audit.

The tool is designed to be user-friendly, encouraging clubs to engage in honest and constructive self-assessment. Once completing the first assessment, users will receive helpful feedback and suggestions as part of an action plan template to help the club meet its aims and ambitions. Cricket Scotland’s Regional Development Officer will then set up a meeting with the user or club committee to review the results and help develop the next steps.

Fraser Reynolds, Cricket Scotland’s National Development Manager, said:

“The content in the Club Development Tool has been completely revamped to better meet the needs of the Scottish cricket community in 2025. We feel it is important to establish a new framework to enable clubs to benchmark their current situation and identify how they can achieve their future goals.

“The tool now aligns with Cricket Scotland’s key strategic priorities and is a great way for our Regional Development team to identify where each club is in their region and how we can best help them.”

Clubs seeking to access the Club Development Tool should click on the Club Development Tool icon on the Cricket Scotland website and follow the prompts to create a profile. Some clubs and users may already have a profile for their club from the previous version of the tool.
