KATHERINE FRASER AND SARAH BRYCE FIRE SCOTLAND TO WIN OVER THAILAND
cotland made it back-to-back wins at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier with a five-wicket victory over Thailand.
Set 119 to win by their opponents, Scotland romped to their target inside 15 overs with Katherine Fraser and Sarah Bryce's 67-run partnership proving to be decisive.
Fraser continued her imperious form at the top of the order with her third-consecutive score in the 40s, making 41 from 31 deliveries, whilst Sarah Bryce struck a superb 52, winning the game and reaching her half-century in style with a six.
Sarah Bryce, named Player of the Match for her unbeaten 35-ball 52, said: "We're really pleased, the way Katherine Fraser played up top again was absolutely fantastic, and having someone like that at the other end makes a big difference, and really takes the pressure off you.
"They're a fantastic team and a difficult team to play, but we looked to put them under pressure and see if we could take them to their plan b, and thankfully today it paid off."
Scotland's decision to bowl first looked an excellent one from the very first delivery when Kathryn Bryce struck to remove Aphisara Suwanchonrathi.
Thailand could only muster 15 runs in the powerplay, and were reduced to 26-3 in the eighth over - but the Thai skipper Naruemol Chaiwai led her side's resistance, with a stunning unbeaten 73.
Chaiwai led her side to 79 runs from the second 10 overs, after mustering only 39 from the first-half - and took 18 from the final over as she led Thailand to a competitive 118-6.
It certainly looked a competitive total when Scotland lost both Darcey Carter and Kathryn Bryce inside the first two overs of their response, before Fraser and Sarah Bryce wrestled control of the game away from Thailand.
Their 67-run partnership came from just 51 deliveries, as the pair repeatedly opened up the offside to find the boundary with regularity - and although Fraser fell to the first ball after the drinks break, Sarah Bryce drove her side to victory.
