Weather disrupted the Men’s T20 Scottish Finals Day at Stirling on Sunday, but there was enough time for Carlton and Forfarshire to book their places in the final, which will now take place on Sunday September 3.

Carlton defeated Falkland by seven wickets in the first semifinal, whilst defending champions Forfarshire eased past Prestwick by nine wickets in the second semifinal, but with one of the pitches at New Williamfield unplayable due to the conditions, the final will now be played in a month’s time.

In the cricket that was played, there was some spectacular action, particularly from the Carlton bowling attack which reduced Falkland to 66 all out in sixteen overs, with no Falkland batsman passing 14. The Edinburgh side reached the target for the loss of three wickets to book their final slot, as they look to recapture the crown they won in 2021.

After a rain delay, Prestwick reached 97-4 in their reduced allocation of seventeen overs, a score dominated by a brutal 67 not out from Donovan Du Randt, which included five fours and three sixes. It looked a testing target, but Forfarshire reached it with ease despite the early loss of Scotland allrounder Michael Leask for 13. A terrific unbroken partnership between Jack O’Neill and Craig Wallace – who hammered five sixes in his 47 not out – took them to the target inside twelve overs.
