Cricket Scotland to celebrate Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week

24th October marks the start of Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week, a nationwide campaign that provides an opportunity to throw a spotlight on women and girls’ participation in sport and physical activity.

Throughout the week, Cricket Scotland will be sharing success stories across our website and social media from both the domestic and international game, whilst touching upon our grassroots initiatives that continue to grow women and girls’ participation across the country.

We will also be hosting a special Q&A webinar on Thursday 29th October hosted by Women and Girls’ Development Manager Rosy Ryan and Scottish cricket journalist Jake Perry.

Featuring current Scotland internationals Abtaha Maqsood and Priyanaz Chatterji and Scotland-turned-New Zealand international Leigh Kasperek, we invite clubs to join in and get their questions ready as we talk all things women’s cricket in Scotland.

You can sign up for the webinar here.

Rosy Ryan, Women and Girls’ Development Manager, said:  “Cricket Scotland is delighted to be celebrating Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week 2020.

“Covid-19 has had a significant impact on both our lives and cricket activity this year, but it is important that we turn our attention to the women and girls game this week and celebrate the growth that has happened so far whilst inspiring growth for the future.

“Please join us by celebrating the success stories and positive impacts that individuals and programmes have had on women and girls cricket in Scotland.”
