CRICKET SCOTLAND SURVEY – THE RESULTS

Cricket Scotland is delighted to announce the results of the recent survey which was issued to the Scottish cricket community.

The survey was commissioned to gain a deeper understanding of what those involved in the game want and how they feel the game should be run. It attracted more than 1500 responses, which is a significant engagement rate, and the results clearly show an enthusiasm for change and improvement across the sport in Scotland.

The data accumulated has now been analysed, and the results can be found via this link.

Following the publication of these results, the next stage in the Cricket Scotland consultation process is a series of “town hall” meetings, taking place on weekday evenings at regional venues nationwide from 28 August onwards until mid-September,on weekday evenings.

This is an open invitation to all involved in cricket at all levels to attend these meetings – not only club officials, but also players, volunteers, umpires, coaches, parents and aspiring participants.

The meetings will be structured into three sections:

  • A presentation of the survey results.
  • Group workshop sessions, in sizes to be determined at each session, with feedback from each workshop.
  • An open question and answer session with Cricket Scotland’s Senior Leadership Team, including the CEO and Head of Changing the Boundaries.
  • There will also be opportunity for questions to be asked anonymously if that is a preferred option during these sessions.

As agreed with the regional associations, the initial dates and venues for the open consultation sessions are set out below.

In following the recommendations from the “Changing the Boundaries” report Cricket Scotland is arranging targeted consultation events for marginal groups across the cricket community. These will provide a further choice over and above the open sessions, to encourage everyone involved in the game to participate and have a voice.
