Sue Strachan

Sue is a self-confessed sports nut. She plays squash at masters’ level for Scotland and tennis, hockey and cricket on a more “recreational” level. She is passionate about encouraging girls and women to embrace the benefits of sport. She believes it teaches valuable life lessons, keeps you healthy and most of all it is great fun!

She has experience of the board of the Scottish Women’s Football Association in the past and was one of a group of individuals who created Scottish Women in Sport. Her whole family, father, brother, husband, son and daughter, are all cricketers. She is women’s convener on the committee of Dumfries Cricket Club and was honoured in 2016 to be nominated by Scottish cricket clubs with women’s teams to take on the new role as the representative of girls and women’s cricket on the board of CSCL. She hopes to encourage the organisation to embrace and grow the women’s and girls’ game at all levels whilst continuing to try and improve her own skills as a batter!
