About the League

The Western District Cricket Union (WDCU) organises and promotes cricket to half the population of Scotland, from Dumfries & Galloway in the south-west, up the west coast, and across the central belt to the Forth Valley.

The Western Premiership One is the top domestic league for the region and runs throughout the summer with 10 teams playing 50 over cricket home and away.

Promotion and Relegation

The champions of the Western Premiership One play off against the winners of the Eastern Premier League in the CSL Grand Final to be crowned national champions.

At the end of the season, the bottom two clubs will be relegated to the Western Premiership Two.

Promotion and relegation takes place throughout the remainder of the WDCU pyramid.
