Freuchie to host Women’s Regional T20s

The Stormers will be looking to secure the Women’s regional series when they clash with the Eagles on Sunday in a T20 double header at Freuchie Cricket Club. With the previous T20 day at Ferguslie a victim of the weather, two wins on Sunday will see the title heading to the Stormers.

With back to back 50s against Germany on her Scotland under 21s debut, Emily Cavender will be looking to continue her good form for the Stormers, while Isobel Couttie & Abbie Hogg are brought in to the squad having helped the Scotland under 17s to an undefeated season in the ECB county championship. Lorna Jack, having been unavailable two weeks ago, is back to lead her squad for these crucial matches, while Abtaha Maqsood will lead the spin attack for the Stormers.

Sarah Bryce will continue to lead the Eagles in the absence of both Katie McGill & Kathryn Bryce, and there will be a mixture of youth & experience as they look to keep themselves alive in the competition. Chole Kiely & Molly Paton are drafted in having performed for the East under 16s during the regional under 16 competition, and there is a first Eagles outing for former Wildcat Kathryn White, who performed well during the women’s premier league this summer. Ikra Fraooq will be looking to continue her good form which saw her take wickets against Ireland ‘A’ for the under 21s during the week.

The matches begin at 11:00 & 15:00 respectively, and entry is free.
