Lister and Carter centurions as Scotland claim clean sweep

Scotland U19s finished off their three-match series with the Netherlands with a comprehensive 123 run win following their confirmation of World Cup qualification the day before.  Scotland won the toss and it was a good one to win as captain Katherine Fraser chose to bat.

Ailsa Lister and Darcey Carter set about the bowling attack with intent.  After 75-0 off the powerplay, the openers continued to seek out a mammoth total to put the game out of reach.  Lister was the first to reach her century before she was dismissed for 111 off 58 balls, including 16 fours and 1 six, with the score on 204.  Carter then left it to the last ball of the innings to go to 100, nailing a 6 back over the bowlers head to move to 103* off 55 balls, with 12 fours and 2 sixes.

Chasing 224 to win, Netherlands never looked like troubling the result, as some excellent bowling from all the Scotland bowlers secured victory.  The pick of the bowlers was Nayma Shaikh who had a fantastic series with the ball, taking 3-7 off her 4 overs including 19 dot balls.  She was well supported by all the bowlers, including Molly Paton who finished with figures of 2-8 off her 2 overs.

Next for this group is the U19 World Cup in South Africa in January 2023.
