The Scottish women’s national team have today confirmed their full set of fixtures for the 2017 season.

The summer will culminate in the Scots participating in the ICC European/American T20 Qualifiers on home turf in August 2017.

The full squad will participate in Division 2 of the ECB T20 competition after securing promotion in 2016.

This year the Wildcats A squad will be competing in the ECB 50 over competition in Division 3. The squad will consist of various members of the current Wildcats squad but will also be a great opportunity for some of the aspiring members on the cusp of the squad to gain county experience.

As well as their county commitments, Scotland will also play an England Academy side and Loughborough Lightning in Loughborough, before hosting Ireland for a 50 over and 3 T20 matches.

Ahead of a busy summer Scotland women’s captain Abbi Aitken said, “We have a challenging and eventful 2017 summer season schedule ahead of us. After securing promotion last year the Wildcats are looking forward to an exciting test in Division 2 of the ECB Women’s T20 competition, where our aim will be to consolidate our position within a very competitive league.”

Captain Aitken added, “We’ve got the fantastic opportunity of hosting USA and Holland in Scotland and the squad are very much looking forward to a busy international summer with Celtic Cup and WT20 Qualifiers. It’s really exciting to have both tournaments on home soil and something that we’ve waited so long for. We have a very dedicated bunch of family and friends who have travelled to all parts of the world to support us in recent years, so it’s great to finally have games at home where we hope even more turn out and support the team.”
